110 CSW Build
I've had a couple of station wagons in the past, and really loved my V8 110 one, asides the fuel costs.
Now, the current family bus is a VW Sharan which at 11 years old, and 188,000 miles is getting a bit long in the tooth, so the wife and I spent some time contemplating it's replacement.

I recently swopped some bits with a mate and ended up with the remains of his old CSW, known as 'The Canary' when it was on the road.
It's demise came about in a head on smash with an AA van caused by diesel on a wet road. The only major damage was the O/S wing, bulkhead and windscreen frame, along with a banana shaped front axle.

It's currently coming apart, whilst we also have a nice HD chassis to rebuild it onto, along with a 3.5 Mazda diesel engine and autobox to make it go.

Some pictures will appear soon. 1982 Wife

Unfortunately the state of the Sharan means it's going to be built a bit faster and cheaper than first planned, then spend some time and money doing all the really fancy bits onc it's on the road.

One thing I am fairly certain of is that given a budget equaling that which you spent on your truck I'd have a very nice vehicle that would last a long time.
However, as I'm doing it on the cheap it'll be a little more restrained. Either way I really can't wait to have a CSW back in the family.

For those who are interested in such things, I'm also planning doing it out with a 7 seat interior, hopefully with leather seats etc from an ES spec Disco. I'm also considering a wee experiment utilising the Disco heater core, and see if I can make it a bit warmer in there without resorting to the latest setup.

All about recycling me........ 1982 Wife
