Back conversion.
Eventually found time to sort the rear of my truck.
I removed the racking (for sale if anyone is interested) and sound proofed the bed with Flashband and the sides with closed cell foam. I know some people say don't use flashband but what a difference and even today when it is REALLY hot it doesn't smell at all.
We want to use it to cart camping gear so I decided to make a drawer and create a flat surface for the dogs out of 18mm ply. For the sides I've just lined it with 18mm ply, carpeted it and fitted some Unwin rails which make loading it really flexible and safe.
I'm quite pleased with the results so far.
Just need to wire in the recharging point now but have some other bits of wiring to do as well so that will have to wait for the time being.

Before and after pics.......

Flashing tape does the job, the only drawback with it is in the winter it hardens and becomes less effective at sound proofing. But it's still better than nothing.

that's very similar to what I've done in the back of my 90, but without the hatch at the front.

A great idea that I'll be pinching when mine is in bits for some re-wiring soon Thumbs Up 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320
