Recommendation for replacement radiator
Need to purchase new radiator for my 2004 TD5 110

Price range seems to be

~£85 - britpart etc

£203 Redbrain aluminium radiator

~£260 LR genuine part

£624 Allisport aluminium

add in £150 for some silicon replacement hoses and gets a bit pricy

What have other people used ?

I went for a nissens as there was a nissens sticker on the leaking rad on my 2003 TD5, so I think they are the genuine suppliers. (I could be wrong though).

Got mine from island 4x4 for £120 including VAT.

I believe Calsonic were the OEM but nothing wrong with Nissens rads.

I had to get one out of a breakers because I needed it back on the road the same day. 4 yrs ago and no issues cost me £30.

I was going to order a full ally one because it was the plastic ends that were leaking. But then something else broke and the cash was spent on that instead. 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

I went for a Nissens one too. When researching in to whether to go "up-rated Ali" or not I read some reviews about the ally rads over-cooling engines that are not tweaked to the max for performance.

Have to say that even with the standard, but new rad my engine runs cooler now than it did with the old and rotten one it replaced. Something in the region of 8-10 degrees (according to the Madman gauge) and you can really see when the thermostat opens up...

Fitting: The only thing I had to do was trim some of the plastic away so the Allisport intercooler fitted...

@alexatnd So what did you go for in the end?

I am in the same boat, I have been looking at these on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BAR-AND-PLATE-A...1438.l2649

I'm tempted to give them a go, they seem legit after a little google research: https://www.toyosports.co.uk/contact-us-2-w.asp

And i was going to replace all the hoses as well, seems like the ideal time to do it but it's going to get pricey! Whistle
