They are not really comparable.
I have both and usually choose the Series. But when the going gets tough, I'm in a hurry, don't want to keep checking in the engine bay before journeys, or I feel a bit rough and could do with some comfort, I always choose the Defender. At the moment I feel you have the best of both worlds and your proposed change won't make it noticeably better. Just my thoughts - and of course it depends on what you use them for and your lifestyle. |

Thank you. And it's true especially if you just wanna quick start and head off.

I agree with Slidewindows - I flick between a 2a 88, a Stage 1and a V8 Defender 110.
The series is fun and fine for an hour or so but anything longer and it’s Defender every time. |

I have a series 2 and a defender has much as enjoy the series longer journeys are hard work on my back <badly> so I use the defender I live at work so I don't have to commute but I think it would be soon regretted driving a series any long distance on a daily basis

For me a Series on a daily basis unless just for a few miles would be painful especially as I have back problems. The Ninety is fine for almost all driving but the Puma is for the longer trips and almost car like comfort.

Hi I used to have a 1966 swb fulltilt series 2a fitted with a 200tdi that I used as my everyday vehicle it had an overdrive and I fitted a pair of Exmoor Trim high back seats but everything else was standard I used to average 10 to 11 k a year no problems I regularly used to drive to Axminster in it , and wouldn’t get out aching at the end of the journey ,I’d say go for it the seats were a definite turning point in the comfort Paul
