a lot of the overseas visitors seem to like Birmingham....
personally I'd avoid like the plague - I'm so glad not to be based there professionally anymore. I guess it doesn't really help in terms of ideas on where to visit but perhaps it gives you a pointer on where to avoid which might help. how about spending the remaining time in Wales - some lovely places especially if the weather is nice. some lovely beaches West of Swansea |

We live near the M25 and wish you luck! Sometimes it is OK but you only need a numpty to gridlock the motorway. Cheers Don.

If you are heading down the M4 on your way back from Kent, you are only a short diversion to Malmesbury or Bath. There is a lovely pub called the Vine Tree at Norton which is 15 mins tops from M4 J17(I think 17, the one for Chippenham / Cirencester). You could head a bit further north to Bibury - very pretty but full of tourists.
You could visit Lacock and / or Castle Combe on the way (sort of) to Bath. Again not that far from the M4 J18. Enjoy the trip |

A slightly sad bit of advice, given recent times, is just to be absolutely sure where you are parked each and every evening. Campsites and hotels great, but do think about on-road parking in certain parts of GB.
Obviously your route from Kent to Holyhead takes you through some of the country's best towns: Ashford Dartford Romford Luton Milton Keynes Birmingham Walsall Wolverhampton But in seriousness it does also pass through/close to Shrewsbury which is a town I genuinely like very much... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

AMBxx I take it you have never driven in rural Ireland then!
Stopping in the middle of a hump back bridge to catch up with the local gossip from your mate no issue as no one is really in a hurry. Now one of my memories from Co. Clare was a combined pub and undertakers with petrol pumps outside. Fill yourself with drink, fill your car with drink and if you did not make it home safely then..... As for Scott hitting the M25 on a bank holiday? Good luck with that just make sure you have plenty of provisions in your Defender as you may well need them. Brendan |
