Really fancy getting my own drone in the coming weeks...
I have some experience of a Inspire 2 a friend had a while back - he offered me it at a very good price wish id bought it but hey ho. Anyway thinking about getting a DJI phantom pro v2? Anybody in the know or can recommend otherwise? This is one of three videos the inspire made before it was sold... |

Hello
We have a DJI inspire 1 for work, the two handset model with 4K camera. Retractable legs etc great bit of kit but large. Personally I have a DJI Phantom, an early one now but its great. My only issue is the replacement battery cost and again the size. I have it in a case with the handset , battery's etc and I would like to take it with me when camping but it really does take up too much space. The new smaller range the DJI Spark or Mavic Air would be probably what I would look at next, Small enough to but in a day sack and take with you. The camera / stability / gimbals have come on a long way so even our DJI Inspire that was £3k a few years ago the image quality will on a £1K unit now be pretty much the same. The newer ones also have more features, collision warning for one sounds good to me. Lots to look at and lots of choice..... |

I was recommended the Mavic air by 'heliguys' who seem like reputable sellers... they are about 10 min drive from my place. when im back in the UK ill pass by for a look.
Do have my heart set on the Pro 2 with this new camera etc... size wise i dont think it's too much more to lug the pro2 around and for the added flight time and quality i think its worth it. |

I bought a Mavic Pro off Welshsurferdude on here.
It’s really good. Since then I have bought a number of “extras” namely a proper case ; Nanuk- like a Pelicase but better & A Crystalsky monitor off Heliguys. Heliguys were superb- super quick & I had need to speak to Tech Service this morning- really quick & absolutely spot on with their help. I would be very tempted to go with their advice. You really need to think what you want to use it for & allow for spending more ( think Defender) I have also bought filters , gimbal extras & so on. Best of luck Guy May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |

Which camera on the Mavic 2?
I assume you ordered via Heliguys as they are providing “free” crash cover I believe. You shouldn’t need that if you take your time. I would suggest printing off the manual & making a folder as this is much easier to have with you in the great outdoors. Guy May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |

I have a DJI that I am thinking of selling if of any interest.
I think its a 2, hard case, two batteries, gimble for Go-Pro etc. Done literally no air time - less then an hour I rekon! |

The Mavic 2 Pro seems to have a decent spec camera for the size of the drone, and should rival the phantom v2 for image quality in a much smaller (and cheaper) package , will be interested to see how people find it in practice.
Just be aware that there have been a load of new CAA regulations introduced at the end of July . |
