Good to see its been purchased by n enthusiast willing to give it sympathetic attention and not someone looking to turn a quick buck.

Under two grand, about right - but I think you may be under-estimating the cost of restoration these days.
Every single thing under the alloy skin will be rotten, worn out or broken. I've just (nearly) finished rebuilding a SIIA Station Wagon and have a SII 88" hard top part re-rebuilt. It will cost more than you think, especially if you have to pay 20% VAT on everything you buy. Just think of a figure and double it! But if it makes you and your son happy, it will be money well spent. As said, it will pay you dividends to join the SII Club and especially its forum. The help and advice you get on there is usually more accurate than on Facebook. Looking forward to your rebuild (either on here or the "proper" forum for Two's. ) |

Alas all too true Slidey regarding costs, although could be worse, it could be a Series 1 80in

Well done!
I would have lost my bet and glad to have done so. At that price you ain't gonna lose much cash even if it ends up an unfinished and abandoned project. In the meantime you'll both have had so much fun and learnt so much together, money just couldn't buy it. Well done again. Peter |
