Not sure it’ll fit but I’ve got a Coleman FyreChampion gas burner that’s excellent. Just Googled the size and it’s 68cm x 17cm x 38cm

Agree about the Coleman petrol stove, even if ours is looking past its best still works fine.
I seem to recall the MSS oven housing had side shields to prevent stove being blown out by wind? Brendan |

Couple of ideas to think about, hadn’t considered petrol!
Yes Brendon, it does have side shields but I’ve found that, even with these deployed it can blow out, seems to be an all or nothing type stove unless it’s a windless day, also, this particular stove seems to sit well forward in the housing so the shields aren’t very effective. 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black. |

We bought a Camping Gaz 2 feux 400 S Xcelerate Stove Burner System about 4 moths ago. Its designed to work in the wind.
So far we are very impressed. Another vote for the Coleman petrol stove, great bits of kit. They are meant to run on a specific type of fuel but I run mine on petrol and it’s fine. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

another vote for coleman had 3 since i was a lad. cheap to buy 2nd hand great in all weathers in very cold weather that stops gas ones working.
for fast brew stops we have a jet boil as well. the copies are ok but use more gas we found |

I have one of the Partner stoves, imported it direct from the states a few years back. Very expensive and a little indulgent but a fantastic piece of kit, solid built and simple design that will last for years. Will see if I can take a couple of photos later. |

I too have a jet boil type stove, mines a Primus Lite+, very fast for a quick brew so I suppose it wouldn’t matter if the petrol Coleman takes a bit of time to get going, how are they for a low, simmering heat?

The coleman really doesn't take any time to get going. Like 20 sec perhaps. I run my 2 stpves on Aspen fuel, a bit nicer to deal with and very nice burn. I also use a blowtorch attachment on a regular butane canister to get it started. Not really necessary but it's super handy, especially in a bit of wind. The extra heat of the torch will have you going just as fast as any gas stove.
I have a "regular" 2 ring coleman and also a single burner, a featherlite, for quick stops. Both fantastic. Yes, you can simmer. The 2 burner has what I would call a master and a slave ring. The master must always be on if you are using the slave. Bit funny system but you will get used to it. The second burner is smaller as well so handy for simmering while cooking on the main burner. The colemans are really great. There is a small bit more work involved perhaps but so worth it being able to just use cheap petrol. They burn really hot too, you won't be waiting long for a cuppa. |

i have two coleman double burner stoves, one of them 10years plus now and the other bought 2nd hand on here. i use the 10year old one 90% of the time when out and use both when camping with the family.
I also use a Coleman featherlite which is same principle. All these ^^ are easily controllable to simmer to jet boil equivalent. For bike packing i picked up an Primus Omnifule multifuel https://www.outdoorgear.co.uk/Primus-Multi...gITfPD_BwE Great for boiling quick, not so great for simmer, work with diesel, petrol and LPG just change the jet on it. Very tempted by the Coleman dual fuel, nice retro looking piece of kit which seems to get good reviews regarding its performance, only problem is that while it would sit on the open table for cooking, it won’t fit into the housing when stored, it needs to be no more than 80mm high folded. Maybe I should just store it in the vehicle and put it on the unfolded table to cook, using the storage space in the housing for utensils etc?
