Sounds like you need a second battery and a pure sine wave inverter!

She does actually enjoy camping, as long as she can straighten her hair in a morning. Gas straighteners might be the answer. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Peterborough was one of the better shows for camping, some of the others were terrible (esp Driffield), but it is not a campsite. Can't answer your question on the sockets.
A few years back the GF and I stayed in a hotel in town, it was full with people from the show! We had a good night in the town, some nice pubs/bars, and would do the same again if it was 2 of us. May be going by myself this year, staying at the show. |

My OP was somewhat tongue in cheek. Theres is no issue with camping. We have done it many many times before, just not at Peterborough. My Wife enjoys it, the dogs enjoy it, I enjoy it. Stayed in a hotel near the show last year which was good too. I just wanted to know if there were accessible sockets in the shower block. If not, no problem 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I seem to remember the "facilities" were festival-type... like this:
Not too bad, but fairly basic... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) Last edited by MartinK on 6th Aug 2018 7:57am. Edited 1 time in total |

At Peterborough there are some purpose built toilet and shower blocks. Surprisingly I can not comment on the ladies section of the facilities however I seem to recall electric shaver points in the gents. I can not recall 13 amp sockets in the gents.
At the back of one toilet block there is normally some large cables powering the coffee/burger vans parked on the corner. I doubt very much that there are spare 13 amp sockets in the gents as some campers would soon take advantage of them. A trade stand is charged about £200-250 for electricity at Peterborough! Get the wife to buy you that generator you've always wanted and then everyone's happy.
Make sure you put some layered security on the genny though. Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |
