Removal/Replace Stock Cig Lighter Plug 2014 110
Id like to swap the stock 12v lighter socket for a dual USB charger...
How do I access the lighter to remove the stock one?

I found this post- cant tell if it needs to be this involved in order to get to it or not. Hope to replace with a BlueSea 5amp dual charger.

I tried to remove mine in one piece, failed abysmally. There is a metal frame on the back that holds the illumination and acts as a fixing, I ended up bending this while removing it.

I figured it was cheap to replace if i ever went back to stock.

Replaced with a blue sea USB, only thing I wish Iโ€™d have done was to add a suppressor as I get terrible radio interference when charging two devices.

PS that guide looks right, but itโ€™s not that scary once you unscrew the middle panel.

Just remove centre dash, snap off plastic retaining 'tangs' to the rear and it may be tight but will slide out.

Not reallly worth trying to save, they aren't designed to be removable then replace.

.Blue sea are very nice, either 12v or USB versions. No Guts, No Glory.
