80's built in early 1949 still had a plate on the bulkhead stating "1948 model"
Many people use this as an excuse to say their vehicle is 1948. The premium vehicles, as you know John, are the pre 1500 vehicles built in 1948 and are easily recognisable. One of the reasons I have moved away from Series Ones in recent years is that as prices have escalated, the numbers of con artists, profiteers and scammers has increased. Years ago it was all about the vehicle, now all too often, it is all about the money. |

Alas all too true Charles. Luckily I have been into Series Ones a long time and I know a lot of true enthusiasts who are still in it for the fun of it, but yes many now are in it for the money, witness some of the latest (now locked) posts on LRSOC about early vehicles.

Rare a post like that was allowed to run on as far as it did. Thank goodness I also found mine before they became cash investments. 1984 One-Ten CSW 2010 XS USW (sold) 1957 Series One 88 diesel 1958 Series One 88 4x2 |
