Once a trailer starts to wag it's very scary. I suspect this one went beyond the point of no return. I swapped my twin axle for triple to try and prevent this happening.

Wales 2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green
Looks like the trailer A bar is facing the opposite direction to the Defender, so either the trailer flipped, unlikely, or somehow the Defender managed to be swung around by the force. Most snakes with trailers are due to the moron towing who knows nothing about nose weight, or correctly loading the trailer, get it wrong and it can cause traction of the front wheels to be lost due to the A bar weight force lifting the front of the vehicle once that happens with a heavy trailer on the back the trailer will start wagging the dog! For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Very very easy for this to happen with 3.5 ton behind a 2.5 ton vehicle, just takes someone to pull out on you, a bad pothole or the dreaded motorway hgv tramline depressions, back end goes light and away we go, 5p 50 p time! I find the worst is with negative nose weight, not excessive, as when the rear axle is light there isn’t the stability on the hitch. Best bet is to go long/low with the trailer, my 16 foot beavertail ifor is a dream compared to my 10 foot tt105 one..

I've played Reilly poly on a motorway before l. A trailer we were towing when I was in the fire brigade flipped us. Caused by a hgv driver that fell asleep. We all suffered bad injuries but no one died thankfully 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)
