Just returned from a 4 night trip to : https://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.u...gle_places in the 110
Went with friends with their D3 hauling a 28ft Bayliner - launched from Balloch Reasonable drive up apart from the battery warning light coming on the 110 but soldiered on and made it to Balloch to help launch and then onto the campsite. Not a bad CCC site, with friendly staff and one chap who worked there said nice Defender, I used to have one. After booking in and waiting to be parked at a pitch the chap came back, so I asked him, what are the chances of being near the water? Depends on who does the parking.. Anyways, he came back and said follow me. Got a spec next to the water, just down from the slipway. View from the tent (for those interested, Vango Icarus 500 with awning extension) Click image to enlarge After setting up I noticed I had not put the fuel cap back on after leaving home. A quick call to the petrol station, and yup, still there!. A trip to Halfords was sorted and a new cap purchased. A few campsite pictures: Flowers Click image to enlarge Spot the 110 Click image to enlarge Sign of the site Click image to enlarge A few D3 and and one D4 on the site. Got chatting to a Swiss family in a G4 coloured 110 and camping trailer with 2 dogs. They were off to Skye, Ullapool and a few other places. (Jian? and Dannielle plus daughter) The lady in tent next to us also had a D2 (but not with her) Some spannering was required: Gear selector on our friends outboard for the tender needed some attention and lower gear leg removing and fixing. The drivers door on the 110 needed the limit arm thingy sorting as it fell out the slider. A few good days playing on the Loch, nice food from the Oak Tree Inn and also in the Lodge on Lomond. Friends left the day before us, so we helped recover their boat from the Loch at the slipway. Then noticed a flat tyre on the twin axle boat trailer. Out with the tools and breaker bar to sort that while they packed things up and strapped the boat down. The bottle jack did not want to get to full extension, suspect the boat and trailer weighed more than I thought (more than a 110 probably) Last night and a sunset from the site Click image to enlarge On the way down the M6 in the rain this Landy passed us Click image to enlarge No doors, and chaps inside in camo gear and masks. No idea what sort of Landy it was other than exposed! All in all a good trip of 625 miles. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Nope. What you see is the guy rope for the awning extension. There is a quad band antenna on the 110 though. 1999 Defender TD5 110

It was a good time and yes, midges did pay a visit! The fire we had in the BBQ kept them away one night. Early morning with a bit of fine rain, they still made a visit. 1999 Defender TD5 110
