Gearbox Breather thread
Ok after extensive net trawling I don't have a satisfactory answer so time to pick a few brains here.

The Gearbox breather on the M82 routes from a push in fitting on the top and goes into the bellhousing....

Still with me?

This to me seems a little underpar as I don't feel it is 'secure' enough to stop water ingress not that I'm planning any aqua based shennaigans. Internet trawling suggests that it is fine and leave it alone to the nugget kit which includes a Do hicky which looks like pushes into the same hole.

It was mused that the breather could be extended but it is a funny corrugated tube so that is a no.

The breather pushes into a plug PN LR005014 so If that thread could be known then it'll be great to be able to get either a blanker to drill and tap the right fitting to fit the breather hose or if the gods are smiling then just source the right fitting. The flats feel about 15 mm maybe a 17.

As the nut jobby is about 10 quid I'm hesitant to order one for science if someone has a dead box lying about with it accessible to find the thread out.

Anyone? Bow down Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest

The thread is M14 x 1mm pitch, the centre bore is 8mm with a tapered lead at the outer end, and the hex is 21mm across flats.

Bellhousing end of breather pipe (I didn't measure the hole but it is marginally bigger than the gearbox end, probably 9 or 10mm):

I think it is likely that you could tap a 1/8" BSPT thread into the hole in the centre of the fitting.
