Wheel arch question
Is there a difference in the LR standard plastic wheel arches/eyebrows for different models?
Will earlier/later models fit?
Are the 90 the same as the 110?
I have a 2011 ht 90 with the rubber flexible type that I want to change to paintable plastic.
Many thanks. Time is precious, waste it wisely...

They're all the same rubbery stuff I think. It's just the unpainted ones have nothing to protect them from UV exposure so the surface gets rougher with age.

There are different part numbers for 'paintable' ones simply because they come with primer already applied. Whereas self colour ones have a part number giving their colour as black. It's just the way the parts numbering system works, it's the same numbering system used on the whole product range. You can sometimes order parts like mirror covers and door handles in different colours or with the body colour preapplied. The old Rover Group part numbers used to end with the colour/trim code - PMA was black. But they're moving away from the old Rover part numbers to the new L123456 type numbers.

It's like mudflap kits on some cars, you can have them self coloured or painted to match the body, but they're all the same underneath.

I think the "rubbery" black unpainted ones are different, the genuine ones in my shed have a slight moulded beading along the wheelarch edge which the body coloured ones on my Defender don't have, and they seem more bendy (this may be because they are not fitted, though).

I think they are a different polymer and come out of a different mould.

Yeah, the paintable ones are a different part to the self-coloured rubbery ones. Darren

To answer your other questions, early and late versions are interchangeable and they're the same for both 90's and 110's, although obviously different, front and rear. Darren
