if memory serves me its down to 2 things .
micron filter numbers are different for petrol to diesel to remove impurities and debris etc. diesel filters are meant to take water out of the fuel.some have drain plugs for this some don't. i suspect the internals will be similar or certainly have been on ones we have cut open. on some of the old army landies we have weighed the new filter full of fuel and the old filter and there is a difference as the used one is always heavier. is there a reason why you want to use the wrong filter? |

My 4.2 90 ran a boy racer filter off eBay sytec filter on the inside of the seatbox worked fine with me.
