My Alive remap didn’t work properly.
Although the engine started and ran, it smoked like a tramp steamer...completely obscured the vehicle behind if l floored it. It looked like steam and l thought the head gasket had gone, but it was unburnt diesel coming out of the exhaust. Good luck getting it sorted. The Alive guy who did mine never responded and eventually blocked my number. I ended up nearly £400 out of pocket plus £125 to get the ECU reset at Land Rover. |

I hear if i reflash too many times it could lead to a dead ecu...
Should i reflash back to stock and see if that works again? Then contact another tuner and let them send me a tune? |

Reflash too many times - yes, you can destroy this way the main flash memory. But it need soooooo many reprograms. In datasheet of the flas memory, there is written, that they guaranty 1 000 000 program/erase cycles for each memory sector. How many times do you plan to reflash the memory? Madtom, i have a number to shoot for now.
I will reflash to stock and if that works than i found my problem, and will find another tuner. If Gary is relunctant to help then i will write a really bad review of their aftersales failure... |

TD5 engine will "run" with any TD5 ECU and any software/map inside. So try the stock one and you will see. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo

"I hear if i reflash too many times it could lead to a dead ecu..."
I've re-flashed my ECU many times using my BAS RRC2 without any problem - it seems that many pump learns can cause problems though. Note mines a Tdci. Be lucky |

I am missing something here,
Where may i find the program to edit my fuel maps once i downloaded them from the car? I checked on nanocom and all i found was the cvs program that allows me to view my logged data, not open my fuel maps Its seems my water injection has been dumping water into the cylinders...Even with the system off. We are investigating the reasons behind this... Problem solved. It was hydrolock but from my water methanol injection system... |

With Nanocom or any official software, there is no way to edit/modify the maps, you can only upload/download the map, and with Nanocom Map Wizard generate standard LR map.
To edit maps you need some special software and knowledge, what to do. Problem is not the editing itself, but knowledge, what each mas is for, and how the ECU works inside. This is reverse engineering. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |

Thanx madtom
I have been told tuner pro is good, but when i reviewed my alive tune, man its everywhere. I compaired the scales to a stock tune, and the stock tune is te only thing that made sense. Defender runs, drives, and puffs between shifts. May try another tuner to cut the smokin down, but need someone who will also log and see where i need the extra fuel the most... |

Found my software issue, was using the wrong xdf file.
Recently fixed that. Found the airflow scale was off, so i fixed that. Now just need to see how the smoke limiter works and which map is causing the smoke... The problem is i cannot run two programs so i may compare stock to my new tune, unless i copy paste into excel and play with the numbers there |
