Fitted my colour matched fascia, having sourced a second hand replacement and got a local paintshop to paint it.
Very straightforward, apart from the cigar lighter.... Click image to enlarge Current Steeds: 2015 110 UW in Grasmere Green 2003 BMW F650 the Hack 2000 Elise 1992 Ducati 888 (no longer in bits, yahoo) 1990 TDR 250 (in bits again) 1988 TDR 250 (no longer in bits) and for sale |

Looks great I have a spare fascia ready to spray, just got to decide on colour. Did the red/blue decal come out and go back in OK? James

I carefully cut off the melted plastic lugs holding the transparency with a craft knife, used a glue gun to re fix.
Whilst the clock was out, i gave it the heritage look with some silver paint. Click image to enlarge Now I'm looking around for substitute heater vents with the appropriate shiney bling. Click image to enlarge I did wonder about going Atlantic or Grasmere but decided to stick with Keswick. If i ever have the opportunity to paint the exterior Atlantic I'll just get the fascia repainted.... In my dreams! Yes, the OEM Heritage heater vents with the silver outers are very nice... will be interested if you manage to source some!
Like the grill... so much I also bought the same one a few months back... YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

These are very similar, the inner tab would swap over to the existing vent. The outer ring isn't quite right though.

I've not been keeping my defender up to date.
I've done a few bits and pieces, Gwyn Lewis mud protectors to front of rear and messed about with glove box conversion and dash cam wiring-in. Mucked about with some cheap aluminium vent bezels, but not 100% convinced. However, my defender has been at the local garage for the past seven weeks getting accrued warranty items dealt with. There are still some further items to be resolved, so I'll not post anything about that for the moment. Full list of warranty items will follow shortly! One big change though, it's now Grasmere. To say "I'm chuffed" is a massive understatement. Still to fit badge to grille and am wondering about changing the side steps to silver. Silver mirror caps was the painter's idea. Maybe a bit "Audi" for me, I'm undecided. Changed over the centre dash fascia tonight. Haven't refitted the radio as I need to send it back to Alpine to get the bluetooth firmware problem sorted out.. or just bin it and put in a better model.
Click image to enlarge After seeing 2010Blackdefender90 modifications, I finally got around to fitting this twin usb voltmeter thing. Click image to enlarge Cigar lighter hole needed very slight enlargement with a round file; I don't have a Dremel. I probably should have ditched the cover, it's not really necessary and gets in the way. Wired in a small switch from the clock feed so that I can switch it on when the ignition is off. The clock wire is pretty modest, but I'm not going to be drawing too much current, compared with a cigar lighter. Finally got around to fitting the aluminium locking pegs bought at the 2017 Scottish Land Rover show.

I seem to have missed all your recent updates. Wow, very nice, looks amazing!
IMO silver side steps would look great. Possible even some colour coded wolf 🐺 rims. Thanks for the reply, these are mainly cosmetic changes and pretty easy compared to some of the projects on here, but they make me smile
I’ve decided to go with colour coded mirrors. Click image to enlarge Was having a look at my brand new condenser (warranty item 24 or something) and wondering if it was feesable to move it back a bit. I’d prefer a flush front end. Can't see how it can be easily done so I suppose I’ll have to keep the sticky out nose. Click image to enlarge Having just bought a full set of nearly new tyres, I’ve been looking at wolf wheels online. I’m leaning towards getting them painted to match the roof. Having seen a few looky likee heritages at the Scottish Land Rover show, I’ve decided to select the heritage features I like but not go for an out and out replica. Looking on my mobile I hadn't noticed the white roof, so yes definitely white wolf's 🐺 IMO.
If you're interested there will be wolf 'style' rims in white with ET0 offset available in September. Not original Wolf only wilf style but the ET0 gives a nice wide stance and with best turning circle. What a great 110 and hats off for the full colour change!
With the aircon snout - is there a way of reducing it's poke? Is it possible to cut an inch or so all around to get it to sit further back without any rubbing? Maybe an aftermarket one might be a good one to have a play with, I'd be surprised if someone hasn't already tried..otherwise it's pushing all the rads back as one unit, which I presume isn't possible? - never looked at the puma front ends! |

Final warranty item now dealt with:
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Replaced with: Click image to enlarge A £1400 job, I'm told. Done under "goodwill", as it's over three years old, despite the fact I notified them before the third service, along with 7 other items of which only one was identified and repaired at the service. Clonking noise almost completely gone, I think the occasional clunk from the rear is suspension related. When I checked play at the rear wheel with the new one piece half shafts, there is about 18mm of play at the tyre edge with the handbrake on, this is the same as the Adventure which has only done about 7000 miles. The A frame ball joint was also replaced as part of the rectification work, so it can't be that. It usually occurs when changing into second and accelerating at roundabouts, after slowing down in third. Also seems to happen on rough cobbled roads.
