Side Awning
Looking for an awning for summer trips, so it must be waterproof aswell as providing shade!

I have been looking at the new one from oztent, also the hannibal and eazi awn version. Does anyone have experience of these.

I have had a Hannibal awning now for about 8 weeks. Very happy with it. The key thing I like is no poles and guy ropes. Though they do recommend the use of these in heavy rain. You can by a full annex kit for it, but I just needed it for the shade so didn't look at that.

I like the hannibal pics but not sure if one would fit onto my roll cage without a hannibal rack. Have you seen any pics of Howling Moon L shape awning Sonic. They sound good if they cover both side and rear of the truck.

Nice idea TJ101 is it easy to transfer to other vehicles, as we have a van which it could be useful on.

Yep, a doddle,, 3 screws and its off, 2 minutes max,,

Get a 2nd set of brackets, (£15ish top), Also use it on the rally van, as well as a 2nd one on the camper
Only downside, is the extra weight in not a ideal area, but has seamed fine, and the fact that if away with a group, yours then seam to become base camp !! Rolling with laughter California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Mine weights 37kgs, being the 3m version, (ideal for a 110)

One of these, http://www.fiammastore.com/fiamma_zip.htm but comes with the side panels as well California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

On Christine I have this one and bought it from TBR. It is simple and takes about two minutes to put on and off for when i don’t need it. It does not take long to put up. I bought it because I wanted something to give a big amount of shade and I am happy to say it does the job. When finished with it it just simply rolls up into the bag and your away. I can mount it on either side of the roof rack or at the rear so I don’t have to worry about which way round to park. It is very basic but I like it and if needed would buy another.

On the last 110 I had a Fiamma which was also very good.

Thanks for the pics The Boy, both seem to have advantages but you are right sometimes simply is the best way.

Mine was the basic one which you roll out by hand and was the 2.8m one which fitted the roof rack. It was slightly more expencive than the TBR one but as I bought it in or around 2003 I cant remmeber but look it up on line. It did last up until 2007 when I sold it alone with the vehicle.
