2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Alpine White
Weird Starting Problems
2009 Puma 2.4 Tanzania, hot weather. 50,000 miles

Slow starter for last 2 months but always starts. Twice it spun verrrry slowly, stopped spinning then spun really quickly as if there was no compression. Got out, locked and unlocked it with immobiliser then it started straight away. Tip meter went back to zero on both occasions. (Both immobilisers working intermittently despite changing batteries)
Checked battery and earth connections, all seem OK

Sometimes starter seems to spin at normal speed, sometimes slowly, especially when cold

Tired starter? Any way of testing it on car? Hard to remove? No spares in Tanzania. Going to UK next week

Any ideas you knowledgeable Land rover people?

Casi seguro son los cables de alimentacion de corriente flojos, van conectados al selenoide de arranque en la parte superior, dificiles de llegar !!!

Is anything in the dash behaving strangely? Different lights on, needles waggling around etc?
