Having a clear out of my garage and found a pair of mud seat risers , had them in my old TD5 . With my arthritis getting worse in my L knee thought I might try them again to see if they help.
Does anyone know of the top of their head what size bolts they use. I did have a set but obviously put them in a very safe place that I can’t remember ! |

Just in case you weren't aware, the Mud rails are unnecessary. If you take the bolts out of the back of the seat and put in some spacers (I used some M10 nuts) you can raise the back of the seat up sufficiently to clear the lip. That then gives you as much rearwards travel as you need because the slides are not the limiting factor, the bodywork is.

Doing what Cupboard suggest gains around 2.5 to 3 inches - I’ve just gone outside and checked. The main issue I have with seat risers is the added height makes it more difficult to see out of the side windows.
Adding just the amount of spacers needed to clear the lip gives me all the leg room I need and I’m 6’4” and mostly leg... Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |
