Today was the day she came out of her barn!
In all the years I have owned her (lots) it was also the first time I started to really poke around inside - found a very manky rodent chewed coat, some old newspapers (no date on them yet) a few other odds and ends. I bought her missing the original engine and with a very rotten chassis and bulkhead but all the original trim intact. Any way, photos of her long term home and blinking in the daylight!! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge It’s the worst bulkhead I’ve seen still on a vehicle!! And the chassis is as bad. I have a plan though... |

So much character! A little bit (lots) of spit and polish and she'll be lovely! You're a brave man taking it on, well done you! James

That's nice. So what are your plans for it?
The 107" Wagons were considered ugly and were overlooked for years, but since the millenium they seem to have become "sought after" and a lot of expensive restorations have been done since. Yours will likely be worth a lot more in that, er, "unmolested" condition. Mine - not expensively restored!- is the only known ex-British Railways Station Wagon , so it was only right to park it in front of a Station a couple of weeks ago. Click image to enlarge Look forward to seeing more of yours, if you are going to show its progress on here. |

Thank you both.
I hope to take the old crate from Essex to Anglesey at the end of June. I expect Jeremy's will be ready by then too! |
