Gas Bottle Holder
I am searching for a bracket that can hold a small gas bottle on the rear of the defender. I know front runner do one but it seems a bit steep for a few bits of metal but are there any others out there?

I wouldn't want to trust a bit of plastic to hold a gas canister in an accident... you might well find a 5kg propane bottle where your head used to be

the proper holders are expensive for a good reason - especially important when it will be inside with you Wink 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320

I think the OP was referring to this http://maverick4x4.co.uk/index.php?act=vie...uctId=1540 The plastic ones are usually used inside a gas locker where the bottle can't really move too far if the plastic strap breaks.

There was a general release from the H.S.E., which I cannot find at the moment, advising NOT to carry gas bottles of any description within a vehicle as the valves could not be guaranteed to close fully and seal against gas leaks. This followed a vehicle explosion that killed the two occupants this was due to the valve on the gas cylinder, which had been stored overnight within the vehicle, even when fully closed did not seal and allowed gas to escape into the vehicle which exploded when the radio was switched on. Don't make old people mad.
