Chaps
Decided to sell my trusty Vango Force Ten Mk4. We've been thru a lot together in the last 10+ years! However that's nothing for a well-cared-for F10 - these are often giving great service for 30+ years! It's in great, used condition. Also includes a protective groundsheet (I always use to protect the sewn-in groundsheet). One of the poles has a very slight bow in it (where a drunk friend stumbled onto it) - could easily be replaced as spares are readily available for a few quid (£12 on ebay) however this does not affect the tent's integrity in any way (you probably would never notice if I didn't say...). The tent is 100% serviceable, and other than a bit of sun-fade (they all do that) it's in A1 condition for it's age. Pics in Scotland at the Highland Safari last weekend: Click image to enlarge And last year at the Peterborough LR show: Click image to enlarge It's been used a handful of times a year, and like my Defender, meticulously looked-after. The Force Ten Mk4 is rated as 3-berth, but really it's 2-man with room for your luggage as well...(see diagram in post below) Canvas Force Ten tents last for years and years, even when heavily used by the Scouts etc All parts are replaceable (spares readily available...ebay, or "Sports Warehouse" on Coburg Street in Edinburgh) - they really are an excellent tent. Mine's never been waterproofed, but also it's never leaked, even when lesser tents have been washed-out. Zips all original and functioning perfectly. The other highlight is that it's super-quick to pitch and take-down. You can pitch inner or outer first, and take-down inner or outer first (good feature if raining!). Review here: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/p/Force-...d-Mk4/2311 Collection / Meet up preferred as I believe it's at least 6kg. I travel up and down the length of the M6/M74 frequently, and to Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Reading (work-related travel usually). Reason for sale? I just bought a new, bigger Mk5 version (rated as 4-berth). It's complete with all pegs etc, no leaks, no holes, all intact and ready to go... I aired it at home on Monday after the Highland Safari, and she's rolled-up ready for the next adventure... A new one will cost £399 RRP - I am looking for £100 ono. Boring fact... "VANGO" is an anagram of Govan, a town in Scotland where they are made (I believe the Vango canvas tents like this are still Scottish-made..unless someone else knows differently) Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Yes! You can buy it! I can't do this weekend as things stand just now (could change), but Reading/Bracknell next week is a definite possibility Let me know, and if you are a definite/confirmed buyer, we can arrange the meet. My new Mk5 should arrive at my Bracknell office on Friday Cheers Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Ramsay - Done
I will bring it South next week, and ping you when it's here. I will probably be in the Nags Head (Reading) on Weds night if that works for you (meeting my Brother for a beer). http://www.thenagsheadreading.co.uk/ I will also be in Bracknell part of the week... Does that work? Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Ramsay - I will contact you early next week when my travel plans are finalized if that's OK. I'll bring the tent South when I come. Usually start early in the Nags Head (5:30), and head for a curry around 8.
Once confirmed I'll be back in touch, I am sure we'll get organized one way or another Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |
