Like I said its a Free tray if anyone requires one.

If an individual who purchases the batteries does not require the Free tray, then I would happily give it away free to whoever has a use for one.

I cant get any fairer than that.

All the best

United Kingdom
Odyssey prices have risen steeply in last few months so comparing todays full retail prices to batteries which might be one, two, three years old which have no warranty is shall we say is being disingenuous to say the least.

Also the 1700 are a long tall battery so care has to be taken when fitting them in a Defender battery box!

The standard twin battery trays by people like Devon 4x4 and Flatdog are designed around the Odyssey 1500 sized battery. They need to be doctored by removal of the tray sides.

Who said they were 2 or 3 years old?

I never, because I purchased them both last year.

The FREE battery tray has NOT been cut down and all its sides are perfectly intact.

(I’m surprised how much interest a FREE battery tray can attract)

Not a problem fitting these into a defender – I have seen four other Defenders with this identical set up (they were all ‘no expense spared’ round the world / overland expedition vehicles) These are about the best batteries on the market that you could easily fit into a Defender - have a chat with the Off Road Specialists: Devon 4x4. Like I did and purchase whatever suits your requirements and budget.

I am also kindly offering a FREE Defender Winch Bumper (if required) with my Warn winch, that is for sale on another post – I hope that my generosity to fellow land rover enthusiasts, in giving away a FREE winch bumper on that post, doesn’t receive any negativity.

Regards

Mick

Interesting assumption Brendan, I think it’s been about 6 weeks since I last spent a small fortune buying from you. Dam the classifieds – buy from dealers ehh!

Hi Steve

Yes, they are used.

Are you in the market for a Odyssey PC1700?

Regards

Mick

Interestingly, Barbara insists on issuing invoices when people spend a small fortune with us. Simple reason it makes any warranty/insurance claim much easier to deal with. Barbara has just checked our records....................

Must admit I do find it odd that having spent a 'small fortune' with us 6 weeks ago that you are now selling all this gear. Even odder that your only posts are in the for sales section!

On the Devon 4x4 site the trays are for batteries such as Odyssey 1500s

Designed specifically to suit the 2007 model Defender, the D44 twin battery carrier bolts to existing holes in the seat base and will safely support two Optima sized or Odyssey PC1500 batteries.

Oddly enough we have our own overland vehicle NOT a 'no expense spared' round the world/overland vehicle but one which has not only been equipped but has actually done long overland trips as a solo vehicle. It has twin Odyssey 1700 batteries fitted on a modified D4x4 twin battery tray. Our other 110 has twin Odyssey 1500's fitted whereas the Disco just has a single Odyssey 1500 fitted. Somehow I do not feel that I need to speak to Devon 4x4 for advice on overland travel, winch competitions hpwever would be a different matter. Oddly enough on our 110 overland vehicle there is a lot of kit which we do not recommend that people actually need for most trips. Needs and wants are different matters.

Devon sells the Genesis battery management system which is South African (IIRC) whereas the IBS system is Swiss made. We have one of each fitted to our 110's. Personally I rate the IBS one over the Genesis system as in my experience the Genesis system does not like it when one battery goes low, system seems to go around the starter cycle loop

Nice link to your website by the way on my other for sale post Wink Wink Very unprofessional!

Interesting assumption again Brendan, I think it’s been about 6 weeks since I last spent a small fortune buying from you – still in Bradford? Dam the classifieds – buy from dealers ehh!

I also have the receipt for over £200 thank you very much for the IBS that you slated.

If I was in your business, I wouldn’t follow people around on the for sale and wanted section, posting negative comments about items they are selling, because they might of just purchased them from you! Then adding links to you own website, where you sell the exact item.

I would spend my more time wisely trying not to loose customers and perhaps investing in some integrity.

Brendan could you stop insulting my for sale posts.

Mick White is just my user name on here, like people call them self 'Big Steve'

I have traveled the world in a Land Rover (but I dont feel the need to wear it on my chest like a medal, unlike others) and I have spent a small fortune with you.

I recently fitted out a truck for an expedition, which is no longer taking place - hence I am selling the items - does that offend you? Like you I also have other vehicles.

I have no reason to lie and you are very assuming.
