key fob in to the washing machine
Hi there!

Regrettably my son lets the key in its pants and put it in the washing machine (at least he his doing its homeworks)
I rescue it, open it and dry it but regrettably doensnt work anymore Sad
Still I have the second pair and I'm not in a hurry...

Any cheaper alternative that ask to the dealer?
Remember that I'm a little bit far away from UK Mr. Green

Cheers! Eduardo

Get a second hand Rover fob from ebay. So long as it's marked 3TXB or 17TN on the back it will work. You just need to get someone to program the car to recognise it. (about 10 min work with a diagnostic machine) Rover 100's, 200's, 400's, Mini's, MGF's, Discoveries and TD5 Defenders all use the same fob.

If the used one you get is a bit worn, Land Rover still sell new cases and button kits for them (about £12)

I’ve used this website before. The new keys certainly work and they let you know the EKA code. You get a part refund when you post back the programmer (in the pre-paid envelope)

https://remotekey.co.uk/land-rover/

Would recommend them.

I have reprogrammed a new key fob myself, however, there is a procedure to it and you need the correct equipment.
It's not something I will discuss publiclally for obvious reasons.

Repacing them is not very expensive at all, nor programming. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Put the key fob in a bowl and completely cover in dry uncooked rice for 24 hours works wonders believe me For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Or buy some Silicagel Crystal Cat Litter, absorbs moisture better than rice. Thumbs Up Cheers, Vincent
