Making progress one way or another at least if you dont like the orange doors on, as you said you can put the series ones back on. i like the blue doors (imo )

I also do prefer the series doors, but the passanger door doesnt have any kind of door lock on it and the drivers door has a lock on it but a teaspoon could be used to open it. So from a slightly more security conscious aspect the orange doors have locks Rolling with laughter . The doors that are orange need to be repaired first and check out how far the old tin worm has gone up the door frames and then painted blue as well. Also its only 4 bolts that hold the doors on so if i dont like them and want to put the series doors back on it wont be a time consuming job Thumbs Up 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold

That sounds like a good plan Wink but i think that your under some type of spell as your thinking that changing the doors over is not going to be a time consuming job Rolling with laughter 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

So last night i made a start on repairing the doors, Firstly i carefully peeled back the aluminium lip and then cut out the bottom section of the door frame, measured up and cut the new piece, Next will be to cut out the vertical side of the door frame where the rust can be seen in the photos below. And this door is actually the better of the 2 for the rust.

last night more work continued on the doors, These are getting sorted every wednesday as they are at a mates house and wednesdays are like car/motorbike tinkering nights. Plus he also has a welder Very Happy
So we started on chopping out the drivers door which was a little bit more rusty than the passangers door, and the bottom of the door just fell out, no cutting required, the only cutting was the vertical parts of the door. As seen in the pictures. Then it was tacking them together before running out of time.
So one door is pretty much done, and the other door just needs to be welded up and its a job well done Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I think its one of these lovely common problems with land rovers as inspecting the bottom of the doors the drainage holes are tiny and mine were just full of mud, so just another thing to fix haha

Another wednesday night has come and gone, this means more work on the landy doors. With one door now completed the other door just needs a little bit more welding and then thats finished it will be time to sand the doors down ready for painting and also fixing the locking mechanism and window winders etc.
