Driven from Essex to Gretna , stopped for fuel and now won’t start!
Thinking it’s an immobiliser fault? Anyone know a Land Rover friendly garage who might be able to take a look or any other ideas? Cheers |

Cheers, I’ve tried that, no luck but thank you.
Infuriating that they’re supposed to be so easy to steal but you can’t get the immobiliser off when you want to! |

Had something similar on the puma which turned out to be a broken cable in the rear passenger door for the central locking. Would fire but wouldn't run.
Hope you get it sorted swiftly enough 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

I had a similar problem twice. Once it was the battery in the keyfob. The other was oil in the ECU.

It could be electromagnetic interference. Since our Defenders are aluminum, they make nice, giant antennas that compound the issue.
Try pushing the truck a few meters away from the spot and try to start him up again. Should work when you are out of range of the interference. Such instances are very inconvenient and kind of justify disabling the immobilizer especially on long trips in remote areas. Hopefully, someone can make a solution to fix this concern. Otherwise, a method to turn the immobilizer on and off as required will be a good alternative as well. |

Still can't get it started, trying to arrange for it to be transported to a local specialist (RST).

I had this once when driving home from work-stopped to go into village shop - came out and it wouldnt turn over.Recovery guy arrived and pulled pwer wire off starter and replaced it. Started straight away. Supposably dirt on the connection etc.

I had a not-starting fault a while ago after I'd been adjusting the bonnet hinges, turned out that I'd tripped the inertia switch on the bulkhead, simple fix. Just a thought
