Why would fitting soundproofing to your bonnet make it quieter in the cabin? Ray

I should have been clearer the db readings were taken from 2m away in front of the vehicle, I didn't test it inside the vehicle as I expected little difference

Given the big gaps along both edges of the bonnet, I'd say that's to be expected. The earlier bonnets were much lighter and had more tendency to reverberate, and so sound deadening made a more noticeable difference, The Puma version is already much heavier and stiffer, though. Darren

I've been doing a few bits since it arrived
1. Silent coat to all floorpan 2. Silent coat isolator on top of that. 3. LRI corbeau seats and cubby fitted 4. Optimill lock and momo steering wheel 5. Alpine double din and reverse camera fitted 6. Just fitted a zunsport grille 7. Fitted LED sidelights, still have the indicators to do. I'm considering the options around the headlight grilles as I dont see to be able to buy KBX headlight surrounds on there own, bearing in mind it will eventually have black bowler race bumper and guard, my current thinking is 1. Standard surrounds, painted santorini 2. Standard surrounds, painted red to match tow cables on the guard 3. Keep current silver ones Red ones might look too much, black ones might make the front end to black (also having black LED headlights), silver ones might work if I go for the silver bowler bumper and steering guard Click image to enlarge |

Looks great so far.
My opinion would be black standard light surrounds or the Series style would be best with that grille. Series 3 ones look good an match with the black mesh, I'd not seem them before although are £125 they aren't cheap. Think I'll add them to the list but paint the current ones black for now

very nice Grenadier!
Been tinkering a bit more, sprayed the surrounds with some gloss black I had, looked ok until the wind blew them down the garden whilst they were drying so a few scuffs now....they are coming off once I get the uproar series 3 type anyway so they will do for now. Put the LED headlights and indicators on as well, the lower grille looks really scruffy now though, I'm wondering will that be covered in the paint corrosion guarantee, I have till Dec 19? Either that or buy the zunesport one. Click image to enlarge |

Body coloured light surrounds do look really good IMO. You can get the Series light surrounds cheap as chips, it's the little grille between side light and indicators which are costly as you have to buy as part of a kit, which is crazy money. Uproar4x4 do one on its own but I personally don't like it. I'm surprised someone with a 3D printer has made one James
