Cheaper Insurance ???
It is now possible that your insurer may quote less for parking on the road and not a garage or your driveway !!!
This sounds absurd but its true.

Just the insurers spreading (Hedging) their risk....

They get too much exposure to one category of risk, they whack the premium up to disuade further exposure and then try to take on more risk in the other categories by reducing premiums...

Presumably, on the on/off road parking, there's been a spate of cars nicked off driveways and garages but not so many from on road so the insurers want less of the driveway/garage biz.... Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

if its parked on the road they thieving scum dont know which house to steal the keys from, most are taken nowadays from by stealing the keys from your house thats why some insurers are quoting less for vehicles parked on road.

Bloke near us parks his RRS a few doors down on some grass overnight, the house which he parks outside had its back door smashed in and the couple terrorised for the keys, of which they really dident have!

Has its down side i guess!!

It Reduces the risk of theft by parking your vehicle there. Garages and driveways are a big deterrent to thieves, so if you are able to park your car safely in either of these then it's always advisable to do so. This alone can save you 5% on your car insurance. However, don't be tempted to say your car is garaged overnight if it isn't. Tempting as it may be to try and reduce your insurance costs it is also classed as false information, and supplying false information can invalidate your whole car insurance policy.
