Engine warning light after clutch change
Just had a new clutch in my 2012 110. When I got the back the engine warning light came on after about 10 miles. I took it back(local indy) and they said it was the cat overheating. They cleaned some contacts and road tested it. However the light came back on again once I got it back and got it fully up to temp.

Any ideas what they have done?

If the engine light has come up there Will be an error code logged. Do you happen to know what is was? a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

They didn't tell me the actual code. They had a diagnostic tool plugged in and said it reported the cat overheating. It is also in and out of limp mode.

Limp mode is a generic outcome of very very many different Problems. I’am failing to see any connection between the clutch and the cat except when removing the clutch they take out the exhaust. Perhaps wiring then? Or temp sensor? Hope that others can be of more help. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

I take it that they checked the EGT sensor wiring,
Sounds to me like wiring or a plug has come adrift around the DPF?

Seems a bit odd that your EML wasn’t coming on before the clutch change,
Get them to check the wiring again. Thumbs Up 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.

In the end they said it was a sensor had failed. However they replaced a heater element which goes into the DPF I believe.

You have to at least disconnect it to change the clutch so I would be 95% sure they’ve caused the fault.

In the end they had it in twice, first time for two days second for four days. Charged me only for the new heater element which was 60 odd quid.
