I don't think DB sells them at all since the Al-Ko takeover, it's a discontinued product. At least that's what Al-Ko said last year.
They are not easy to find and really hold their value second-hand. |

We have a trade account with Al-ko. It was much easier dealing with Bradley Doublelink/Dixon Bates when they were based in Bingley.
When I approached them last year I was told that they had discontinued the Shocklink and that Al-ko was reducing the number of DB products. Retail price used to be in region of £500. I do not know if Al-ko has started production of the Shocklink again or if someone has found some old stock. Now a quick search has found THIS OK £566 is not cheap but a better price then £796 I understand tha Al-ko itself might have been taken over itself. Sorry but I do not have more up to date information. Brendan |

Now you will get differing opinions about are Shocklinks worth it etc.
We have had one caravan destroyed A frame pre shocklink and now will only tow our caravan with a shocklink. Our local caravan mechanic sees broken A frames/chassis on caravans. Common thing is 4x4 towing them. Now you will also find 4x4 owners who tow caravans without issue. Brendan |

Sorry SB, makes sense with what I said earlier.
If you remind me after the bank holiday I will try and find out current supply situation. Just had a quick look on ebay and when they come up they are about £300 Brendan |

Thanks. Still not totally convinced I need one for towing my caravan but definitely not worth the Al-Ko.com asking price of £795.95. Discovery 4 HSE

Damage to our caravan plus recovery cost us well over £1,700.
That was a caravan less then 3 years old and about 5,000 miles on main roads. The shocklink we bought after that event cost us about £4-500. So for us a shocklink was a wise purchase. Brendan |

They don’t tend to wear out but unless they are greased regularly - every 1000 miles - they can seize up.
They can be dismantled - newer ones had some countersunk bolts holding top and bottom plates on. Older ones - I think - can be dismantled with a peg spanner. My current one is second hand and the older type, which gets a squirt of the grease gun twice a month to prevent problems. My recommendation is to use a marine-spec waterproof grease.
