Hi, as a family we have been directly and indirectly affected by the recent Russian poisonings in Salisbury.
We were at the next table to the unfortunate Scrupals an hour or so after they left. This happened on the Sunday evening, it was made public on the Monday, we were contacted by Hampshire police on the Saturday ( traced via my credit card) Asked lots of questions of course, unfortunately we couldn’t help at all. Went to hospital on GP advice for blood test, they sent me away.. No government health warnings, no contact from any government agency even though we were on the system.. national media highlighted the wiping everything with baby wipes on the following Sunday We assume low risk, but the army have only 2 states apparently, risk or no risk hence all the minion suits on the tv.. Centre of salisbury is a police spotters wet dream, everything associated is on ‘lockdown’, the place is a ghost town, but we now have free parking woohoo! ( chaos as all the office workers who use the paying multi storey car parks and park and ride just parked in town) I’m not overtly dissing the authorities/ police, but only now have they made clear the likely source of the poisoning ( front door handle, how despicably random is that targeting), why is everything still cordoned, why don’t we know more, why weren’t we as a family kept involved, why don’t the media give it a rest so that Street cordons can be removed? ( cars are searched on the scrupals home street estate to check for reporters sneaking in) I suppose we are lucky in Salisbury in that things like this just don’t happen here, perhaps that’s why I’m peeved Rant over, at least the weather lovely for the bank holiday, no wait.... Holy cow, so the poison was on their front door at their home?
I'm glad you weren't infected! |

Glad you're OK. Surprised all those so close weren't tested as matter of routine. So scary.
Feel most sorry for the policeman. I've not heard how he is recently, or any of them for that fact? Why has this blown up so much more than the radioactive tea a few years ago? Hope things get back to normal soon. It was reported the highest concentration of the poison was found on the front door handle, but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean it's the origin?? James

Actually last year we had a nuclear bunker 2 miles from our house where they imprisoned some poor Vietnamese chaps to grow dope, I drove past and was about to offer 2 a lift when the whole Wiltshire Police force turned up...!
Also, pattern appearing here, a lorry with nuclear mines overturned on ice back in the 80s, a mile from my folks house, whole area ‘locked down’ so we crept through the woods to within 10foot of it, only to be arrested by lots of very nervous Geordie squaddies It all goes on in the countryside... I'm sincerely glad you and your family are ok.
The media it up for everyone, and unfortunately it is worse nowadays with social media |

Yes, Dean Hill was a secret munitions base, apparently miles and miles of tunnels that no one person knew the full setup..
Our local farmer Malcolm, whose field it fell into, had the CIA and MI5at the farm explaining what was in the truck, he was then banned from going to any Iron Curtain country ( he never left Wiltshire and had tried garlic once ) Back to the original topic I have to say that I agree 100% in how our Theresa has handled the whole affair, and I was very relieved when one by one the rest of the ‘civilised’ world leaders have dropped in line, let’s hope Putain has a long think about what they do next... Can’t see realistically how we can attend the World Cup though.. Cheers. Alex 98 300 tdi 90 project 94 Range Rover vogue 4.2 lse 79 911 sc 08 130 double cab utility |

Sadly "Our Theresa" is too scared to take out any real sanctions against Russia because her party receives millions in 'donations' from various Russian 'businessmen'. Then you have people like Rees Mogg who's financial firm profits millions from various Russian companies including a sanctions-restricted Russian bank. No chance of us boycotting the World Cup, I reckon it will be a couple of tit for tat expulsions to save face and then business as usual. |
