Pressure washer recommendations
Looking for a new pressure washer. My existing Karcher has given up the ghost, I suspect its a problem with the main switch however given it was an entry level one and it's 13+ years old I think I can justify a new one.

The main niggle with my last one was the relatively short length of the hose from the pressure washer to the lance, and on my current one it couldn't be extended.

Looking at either a K2 or a K4 as it's mainly used for cleaning the patio/drive a couple of times per year and snow foaming the Defender and Euro box.

Can anyone comment on either of these based on experience or point me in the direction of something better, I've so far not looked any wider than Karcher.

Thanks Keith

Kranzle.
Not cheap but the dogs wotsits.
The weapon of choice for “detailers “
I got mine off flea bay.

You will need a good power supply as mine draws just over 13amps on start up & it can pop fuses.
Really quiet but way more pressure than a karcher but controllable. May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful.

I've had a Karcher K4 for just over 2 years and now it needs turning off and on very time I press the trigger. I've just starting pondering what to replace it with... Dave

Chopperone - That does look good Thumbs Up , however not sure that I can justify quite that much unless I can find a deal.

Dave - Slightly worrying - I would be hoping for more than 2 years on my new one. Keith

I had a small karcher for a long time until it finally died. Replaced it with a Nilfisk E145 and am very impressed. I like the Nilfisk stuff, it seems very robust and also has great performance.

I just picked up a cheapo from Lidl. Came with a 3 year warranty and only £80.

I’ve an old Karcher still going strong although the wheels and most of the plastic bits have come off Laughing the secret is to use a decent extension cable like 4 to 6 mm and drain it off when it’s finished with.

I have a Karcher K7, first one due to the water flow broke after 2 weeks,

properly setup with a surge preventer (think thats what it is)

its great... really really good actually.

Is that surge prevention on the water line or on the power supply? I'm familiar with ones on TV and computer power supplies but not on a water supply.

Thanks Keith

I would say Kranzle too. You will pay more for one, but it will last years and years.

Before you get one check the output from your tap and hose as they need about 11 litres per min to work well. It will say how much pressure is needed on the specs.

Kranzle. Like said above, a bit dearer but worth it.

We have a Kärcher HDS 10 and a Kranzle 160. Both excellent and both really good at different tasks. As both have removable lance hoses you can get an extension made up by your local hydraulic company.

We have extensions for both machines which gives about 20M of hose Thumbs Up

The Kranzle is much more portable for obvious reasons! But the removable (and therefore extendable) lance hose is a real bonus Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Another vote for a Nilfisk - came with more accessories and cheaper than karcher. Better designed for storage of the accessories too.

Another one here for the Nilfisk E145, has a 10m hose, good quality washer, when I was researching I fancied a Sthil but found out this is just a rebadged Nilsfisk and about £100 more
