The Essex Wideboy

...or at least it used to be

Quite a few things have changed - drastically - since my disappearance from the site. Probably the most drastic was the selling of my Tomb Raider 110 to fund my wedding

But I managed to rebound into this

Far too much bling for my liking, but it was a good base, or rather I thought it was

Just over a year later it runs like a bag of spanners, needs the doors replaced, has had every sensor replaced, new transfer box (Disco 1.2 unit), new TDCI axles (front still to do), new fuel pump, new brakes, new Terrafirma suspension, new wheels, bigger tyres, rock sliders, totally new front end (apart from KBX grilles which will be going soon), totally renewed interior with a proper face lift TD5 dash to replace that naff mud stuff plastic thing, Front Runner roof rack, ladder, LED spot lights, LED work lights, heated windscreen and loads of other little improvements - like making it van

Come to think of it i think the wide arches and colour are the only original bits left!

Like all Defenders it still has a load of things needing done, but it's all worth it

Has this been in at Pentland recently?

After seeing the first pictures and my eyes stopped bleeding, I wasn't sure if I wanted to read on....glad I did, you've done a great job

A great job and as has already been said, top work for being able to see past all the ‘interesting’ modifications.

Mike Hermiston, been fairly smooth so far. They struggled to get all the prep done before I picked it up (I was going away with work and didn;t want to leave the Mrs with just the Defender... just in case
