Had a nice amount overnight but temps are supposed to rise tomorrow so I expect it'll all be gone soon.

Dartmoor was nicely snowed out, a visit to the Warren Inn for a coffee and the way home made for some nice driving. Pic taken at Grimspound

Yes an Old Guy in his old Defender. That was not even a major dump of snow.
Around here our local roads get 'interesting' if there is any snow. Out come a lot of old 4x4s which I normally do not see in reasonable weather. On another of our local roads followed another LR this afternoon but kept about 150-200 metres from it. Straightforward driving with some big drifts at road side. Suddenly noticed a small silver 4 x 4 following me with a gap of 10-15 metres. Just hoped I did not have to stop otherwise someone would have a rearranged front bonnet. Around a right hand bend with large snow drift on the right. Glanced in mirror and saw the following 4 x 4 do a very good impression of trying to snow plough a 2 metre high snow drift. Now I am no expert at driving in snow, but the amount of idiots we get around here every time it snows is amazing. Last snow drop on one local minor road which can be readily avoided had 17 crashed vehicles on it at one time. It is well known for crashes in bad conditions but people insist on using it rather then the alternatives which might put 5-10 minutes on a journey time. Brendan |
