I think there is a way to distinguish the version of 10as on a puma
That's by the key fob

If they key fob is the old td5 black round rectangle one, then the 1st version of black box
If the newer fancy key fob, the the latter gen black box

But there are two versions of the later one also aren't there?

That's the reason for one of the TSBs quoted above by JLR.
