2002 Defender 110 Td5 Black LE Java Black

Hi lift jack safety device

This just popped up on my Pinterest page. I thought people on here may be interested.

I don’t even own a high lift but I thought this was quite clever, and surprised no one seems to have developed something similar in this country. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) 2002 110 td5

I've seen that before.

My initial thoughts were twofold:

It removes one of the key features of being able to use the jack to slew a vehicle; and I wouldn't want to be putting my face anywhere near a tensioned steel cable whilst using the jack.

Looking again, the mechanism for tensioning the steel cables appear to place the load on the outside edge of the rack - that's not a load path the rack was design for.

To be fair, it doesn't remove anything. If you actually wanted to slew a vehicle then you just wouldn't use this particular accessory.

As for the other concerns, as I said it's been around for five years. If it was inherently flawed in the ways you suggest then it probably wouldn't still be available. Darren

but then again, an item that's been around for 5 years, you a LandRover anorak and you say you have never seen it?
