You will find none.
To be honest they get thrapped as they leave the line and probably a few times between built and you. Anyway - there is some info on searches here...i would just enjoy it - advice for the range rover was keep it below 3k for the first 1000 miles - it wasnt always achieved but i did. Mike |

My 2008 manual says the following (page 68, seen as page 88 in online version):
RUNNING-IN The engine, gearbox, tyres and brakes, need time to bed-in. During the first 800 km (500 miles), it is essential that the vehicle is driven with consideration for the running-in process. During the running in period, the following advice should be followed. • Limit the engine speed to a maximum of 3000 rpm and the road speed to a maximum of 80 km/h (50 mph). • Do not use full accelerator pedal travel and use the gears to avoid over-revving or labouring the engine. • Avoid rapid acceleration or heavy braking wherever possible. • Ensure that servicing is carried out on time and follow any advice regarding use in arduous conditions. Note: The advice given for running in will aid fuel economy and should be adopted as general driving practice, even after the running in period. Peter 2008 SWB Truck Cab 1952 80" Soft top |

Thanks for that Mr Flips
![]() I have only done about 50 miles since getting her (150 in total!) and have been driving very thoughtfully. Clutch is all good, goes into the gears nicely with no nasty clunks. Engine runs fine and even with no roughness. I asked the question as I remember I did give it some oomph one time when I test drove her and got a severe look from the salesman ![]() |

thrash it from new otherwise things will glaze over not bed in properly and it will drink oil late in life, thats what the rev limiter is for

Yeah thats what they say AND it makes a faster engine in the end apparently. The SAAB rally engines were hammered from the outset and gave more power compared to the ones that had been nursed.... ![]() Last edited by Zagato on 29th Apr 2011 5:22pm. Edited 1 time in total |

My puma 110 only has 400 miles on the clock. 200 of those were between 80-98mph (speedo reading) on a drive down the M1 to Derby.
![]() As said above, drive it hard, and It'll make for a better engine. Diesels love it! ![]() |

...But my wallet doesn't ![]() Then again the occasional hoof doesn't make much difference, and if it keeps things healthy in the long run I don't care that much, Big Black's fuel economy gets better when it's driven less like an old boffer! |
