Fibreglass hardtop options - winterproofing td5 soft top?
Hi guys,
I am trying to find a way to make my 2006 TD5 soft top a bit more pleasant during the cold winter months in Denmark.

I love the soft top during the summer months but in the 6 months during fall/winter the soft top gives me nothing but loud flapping noises and not much pleasure at all Smile

I was considering buying a standard hardtop and rear door and just make the switch every spring/autumn.
The switch is complicated a bit because I have a heavy duty hoop set from exmoortrim fitted+ I would like to avoid buying and changing the rear door aswell.

The optimal solution would be something like the NAS style fibreglass top - which fits directly on my car and fits with my existing tailgate.
They do seem to be hard to come by - anyone know a place within the EU that have these - or a similar alternative?

best,

Christian

They aren't particularly cheap / easy to come by but have you looked at a series style catflap? That combined with a roof / side panels would work without the need to remove the tailgate and swap to a full door, you'll still need to remove the hoodsticks though.

Worth trying a fume curtain with the soft top, it's made mine much warmer and quieter. Swapping the rope for strong elastic cord and pipe insulation on the hoodsticks also helps. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

Do you actually use the rear load area for passengers? and do you still have a bulkhead?

If you don't really need the rear area for passengers and you have a bulkhead, then a truck cab would be a fairly easy fit, and easy to store as well as pretty cheap to buy. You could just leave the rear hood sticks in situ. or throw a canvas tilt over them.
