so many options but what do you reckon is best;
I'm in London for 3 days visiting a few different places each day. I was originally going to train down and go to hotel in evening and train back at end of 3rd day but the only problem with this is having to carry all my kit on the 1st and last day. As such I looked at driving to Hounslow Ramada Hotel on the night before and leaving car and luggage there but it's almost an hour each way into London? any thoughts / suggestions welcome. Drive to Reading and get a fast train to Paddington?
Find a hotel that you can drive to that's closer in? Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Apsley nr Hemel looks like an option.
cheap hotel, only 30 mins into London but that adds another £27 per day to the costs? guessing that's about as good as it's going to get? |

our friends stayed in London.
Dropped their bags off day 1 in the hotel and left them in the baggage area on Day 4 until they caught the train back up to us Mike |

Caterham, did something similar many years ago.
Got the Virgin service from Brum, 1 hour into Euston, then stayed at the Holiday Inn Regents Park. 10 min stroll from the station dropped our bags with them for the day and 2 min walk to the tube station. Same on the last day, left them there until we started heading back to Euston. Whilst you'll no doubt find it cheaper with a hotel further out, if you time the train right, the tickets are buttons (far less than the fuel will cost) and being only a 10 minute tube ride into the centre gives greater flexibility to your day. Worst case, staying out on the razzle until the early hours you can get a cab/Boris bike back to the hotel. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |
