Certainly looks an impressive piece of kit and like the idea of not carrying around many kilos of metal as the alternative.

LRA, you beat me to it and yes I have used the spare wheel in sand when a ground anchor did not work Thumbs Up


Supacat, our local packaging company brings in 1 tonne builders bags from India and they are certified apparentlyNow I am guessing that if they are certified under lifting rules safety factor will be 6-7+

Now standard size is about 1.2m cube which is a big hole to dig.

I thought this was sufficiently different to be worthy of note, certainly less taxing than lugging your spare off & on the vehicle. Also whilst fine for a steel wheel, not sure how well a modern alloy would stand up to the side loading?

Pull pal style anchors seem to have solved the setting issue for many different surfaces, but are not infallible

The important thing and probably the outcome of this thread, is to be aware of all of these methods of anchoring before you need to use them.

As Badger intimated there is no one solution that is a complete solution... Apart from not getting stuck in the first place Rolling Eyes
