United Kingdom 2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Aintree Green
Following on from the above post I popped up to Devon 4x4 and had a nosy about their new sales store and I could do a major amount of credit card damage in there but I was good.
I got my replacement Albright and as a treat a new pulley block to add to my kit, and another pair of gloves.

So I broke out the spanners and replaced my old one and whilst I was in there wired up the Incab and Wireless controller

To test all was well I then used the old girl to do a little tree work.

I did film it so if anyone wants to see i'll link up the old youtubes, once I've uploaded it.

Nothing much happening of late apart from a winch motor rebuild/upgrade.

Event support for Ten Tors was a great event.

And the positive for todays rain is that the beading on the paint work looks great.

Today was a nice day and I was 99% sure the old girl was due an oil change so I duly changed the oil. Thanks goes to Opie for the swift delivery along with some other goodies to be reveled at a later date. Wink

Upon filling out the service book I then find out that I'm 2 thousand miles early Rolling Eyes

25K pain free miles if we don't count the odd bit of minor warranty work here or there.

After some build up I have got around to rustproofing the underside of my 110, The rear crossmember needed painting so in true tradition I rolled two jobs into one.

This then turned into a rust proof - rear crossmember paint, to a well the tow hitch looks out of place lets paint that, The rock sliders could use a freshen up, the fuel filter housing was flaking slightly so that needs painting.

So last sunday I washed the underside and degreased with Surfex HD.

On Tuesday evening it looked like this

All masked and ready to go.

So far Soo good! I'm really liking them. Not silent but good and quiet on the road. and when things get sticky the perform better than they look, Granted not a full mud tyre but good and reassuring. I got a little teeny bit stuck the other day (up to the bumper and rock sliders) but when out (Cue the Superwinch) I was still mobile under my own power in a good 12 inches of semi solid slime. they cut through the silt onto the remains of the base of the track and I got turned around.

I have recently got the cargo tracking sorted in the back to allow good secure loading of the boxes etc ..etc that come during the camping trips.
