Badger,
Will that cover you for towing, and what other exclusions will this include? |

Yes covers me for towing ( we pull a horse trailer for shows) and a named driver
I limited it to 8000 miles a year as its not a daily drive, other than that, its insured as a social/domestic use vehicle...I even said I wouldnt be using it to visit business clients as they wanted to increase the premium if I did! |

This is interesting info. Our 110UW and Adventure usually come up as vans when the reg is input, but the adventure is 100% private use. I just kept shopping around until I found an insurer that treated the adventure as a car (LV), with a premium around half that of "van" quotes.
When I first started with a utility in 2009 I was a bit annoyed that the saving on RFL was used up paying a higher premium on "van" insurance. I'll be sure to try the 100% private use at next renewal. Admitedly my change back to a car from a commercial was 25yrs ago so the industry has probably changed. I have always used NFU Mutual which probably explains my experience!
I too was told I only had 40%ncd (the max for a commercial policy at the time) but I posed the following hypothesis: The car I had before the commercial was full ncd and that became the 40% max on the commercial so surely I should get the 65% max ncd for a car by the same process in reverse. My logic won the day and I went straight back to full ncd on my newly acquired Sierra XR4x4! If you've used the same insurance company, give it a try, the worse that can happen is they keep you on the same discount! |

One thing I learnt yesterday my mate has commercial insurance on his L200, when he called up to claim for a cracked screen he was told on a commercial policy it was an optional extra only available upon renewal/initial cover. So just check it’s on your policy 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

It depends on the insurance company, if they can fleece you to get more money with an ' extra ', then they will, including making windscreen cover an option rather than an inclusion. Fortunately mine's included |

LR have historically been rubbish at defining what the V5 document says the vehicle is. A 90 or 110 CSW should say 'estate' and not be classed as commercial.
Our 2016 110 was wrong. It means that you will be subjected to the LEZ charges later in the vehicle's life or even banned unlike a correctly registered CSW. We have commercial insurance on the 130 with NFU and no issues. Great insurer. 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |
