Caravan to classic tower

i have an just got my hands on a Elddis caravan thats rotten out. It is a Single axle and will be used to transport a 1978 mini. I intend, and have begun, stripping it down to the chassis. Just wondering if anyone else had done this kind of thing before?

Any advice is warmly welcomed!

Will it carry a mini weight wise ? -------------------------------

Yes be careful with weight.

Aside from the fact that all trailers built after 2012 need testing (IVA type test)
Check the MAM of the caravan plate and also max draw bar and axle ratings.

Most single axle caravans top out at the 1200kg mark. By the time you've built a bed, carry ramps and then add the vehicle you would be very close to that I would have thought

2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Aintree Green

I stripped a caravan with the intention of using it to transport a 4 metre SIB boat. There isn't actually a lot of chassis to them - just a simple rectangle - the rest is built from timber. However what was there was just in the wrong place, for my use. I scrapped it and bought a proper boat trailer. Have you compared build costs against a proper car transporter?

I am sure a mini weighs about 750kg if I am right,
