Injector life 2.5tdci
So the engine replacement saga continues. Seems that at 110k miles the injectors need reconditioning or replacing.
What is the service life of injectors?
Should I replace or the new set after 100k miles (along with a timing chain set)? Rolling Eyes
Thanks

Mines on 130,000 and no issues, I know there are others on here with higher Mileage,

There are also Plenty of high mileage Transits running around 200,000 miles +

I tend not to touch injectors, they will soon let you know when something is wrong, they’re not cheap to have the full set overhauled, last ones we had tested and fully refurbed were just under £650.

Wise move on the chain though, Turners do the kit for sensible money, cheaper than most factors can.

Thumbs Up

Well you can pull the injectors and have them tested at an injection specialist. They'll put them on a rig and test the spray pattern etc. A 'new' set will cost crazy money, however if the injection specialist does find one or two at fault they can be rebuilt much more cheaply than buying new ones. Make sure you put them back in the same place, ie. injector 1 back in number 1's slot, it'll save having to recode them.
