Drove past one of the many tourists now arriving in the Alps for the half term hols (6 weeks of hell beckons) who, as with the vast majority of tourists, despite being allowed to procreate, drive, hold down a job, communicate with other human beings, etc has supplanted his brain with air for the duration of his break.
He had fixed what looked to be at least a 5", perhaps 6", SatNav to the top of his instrument binnacle, (similar size and shape to that of a Def), with a clamp so that the GPS was sitting higher and proud of the binnacle and steering wheel, directly in his line of sight. I would suggest the top of the SN was in line with the bridge of his nose In essence, imagine a SatNav planted directly in front of this woman's face, bottom of the SatNav at binnacle height. (Sadly I have no idea how to use Photoshop). Taller than the HUD you see in the picture, and of course solid rather than see-through. I never fail to be amazed by where drivers place their SatNavs, but this absolutely takes the biscuit. Just wish I had a camera. Tell one of your local gendarmes. Pretty sure it is illegal in France to put a GPS right in front of the drivers view. You can help France to collect an extra amount of tax (via a 90€ ticket).
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

With the number of Gendarmes at this time of year up and down the Cham Valley, (I swear it's the entire Paris Brigade), he'll be caught soon enough. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

or you could just clip it to your steering wheel and it wouldn't spoil the view!

Crikey, with the hairpin bends we have around here, that would be nigh-on impossible to follow. Monsieur Le Grenadier
