2003 Defender 90 2.5 TD XS CSW Bonatti Grey
Ben Fogel's Mistress
Hi all - having just finished reading Ben Fogel's Land Rover book - see his Series 1 "The Mistress" is up for sale with John Brown 4x4 - £35k.

Far from original but like the spec from a regular use perspective.

Thoughts on the price??? Is it inflated based on 'celeb' owner?

Thanks

Apart from the book being rubbish, all over the place and not a great read
His first DEfender was the love of his life, he sold it
The Series 1 was the love of his life, he is selling it

Me think he is not that honest and just bought into the whole Land Rover ownership thing

I think it’s been a lot longer than that, I’m sure it was on sale back in the summer?
There was a promise that he would hand the keys over in person, like you were paying for the privilege of owning his beloved 80”, it all seems a bit desperate to me? Rolling Eyes

At that price, and what it actually is, I think they will have it hanging around for a while yet,

This is coupled to a Series 3 gearbox, which enjoys synchro on all but 1st gear.

Errr we all know the syncros can be a bit weak on them boxes but they do exist. Laughing It's a bit harsh calling it missing in a outright sense. Rolling with laughter Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest

Sounds like they need to do a bit more reasearch as to what series box is actualy in it?

sensed there may be a bit of an ego going on when reading his book which is confirmed by views expressed here. Be interesting to see how much longer it hangs about. Some other interesting looking series on the John brown site...roll on my lotto win.

Seems there's plenty of people about that don't like him, but this is going a bit too far!

Unless those people have met him, I'd suggest that it is inane to "dislike" him based on watching him on television.

I'm always surprised when people have strong views on innocuous people in the media; he is hardly a contentious or an out spoken character. Therefore, unless his normality or blandness offends, I'm not sure what there is to have a strong opinion about Question
