Fitting a Canvas Hood to a 2016 90 Pick Up o 110 DCPU
Can anyone tell me when fitting a canvas hood to a 90 Pick Up or a 110 DCPU is the galvanised metal water gully expected to be diverted onto the back of the truck cab?

Looking at the picture you have that channel back to front there is a bracket that fixes to the rear bulk head and the canvas sits in the channel. Hope that helps.

I don't think it's wrong as it fits around the hood sticks at the base. Mine is a cab fit, so I have a frame around the window...

You need to drill the cab and rivet it on, top tip, use lots of silicone sealer.

Just make sure you don’t channel the water towards that Persian rug, you wouldn’t want to ruin it. Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

Hi guys and thank you for all you advice.

Just a bit nervous about riverting into the bodywork but that seems how it fits.

Once I've done it I might post the Persian Rug on the For Sale & Wanted section in case Grenadier fancies bidding on it!

Do you ever plan on removing it again?

I run my DCPU without a hood so removed the channel, welded up the holes left by rivets and had the cab repainted

I wonder whether double sided 3M would do the job? If you are keeping the spare wheel behind the cab, tightening the wheel against the channel will keep it largely in place

When I removed the gutter strip and window surround frame from my DCPU to fit an Ifor Williams canpoy, I simply fitted a machine screw with a nylon insert stiff nut together with a dab of sealant through each of the former rivet holes. They don't leak, and I can refit the removed parts any time I wish using the same screws/

The channel also keeps the tension on the canvas, if it wasn't secured properly the canvas will shrink considerably. Don't ask me how I know Whistle

I don't think the hood will be removed - certainly not while I own it.

One of the reasons why I wanted to put the hood on is because without it the truck just fills with leaves and water unless it is parked pointing up hill so the water just flows out of the tailgate.

With the hood in place the gap between it & the rear of the cab will be the place where all those leaves gather....

And as others have said use plenty of sealant around the very poorly fitting outer edges.

For those who don't want a full hood, I can highly recommend the Exmoor Trim canvas tonneau which I have fitted. Very well thought out bit of kit, sturdy, clean and keeps the bay watertight. Rolls back easily and fastens with clip ties if you want to put something in higher than the tub line. Excellent Thumbs Up
