I have the Wipac ones.
They have been superb for the last 4 or 5 years (don't want to look in the drawer of receipts to find out exactly how long). Much brighter and I assume safer than the original glow worm infested units. Just one word of caution, if you don't have LED headlights they will seem very yellow once you have fitted LED sidelights. Of course this only applies if you change all of the indicators and sidelights as well as the stop/tail lights. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. Thanks both - two votes for Wipac. I'm only looking to do the stop/tail lights at the moment, already got LED bulbs in the front side lights & Philips X-treme bulbs in the crystal head lights.
I don't have NAS style lights, are the Wipac NAS lights a direct replacement for the standard units or do they require modification?? Cheers. |

I'm not sure regarding the NAS style on whether they are direct replacements.
The ones I have are the standard size ones as I wanted to try and keep the original look. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. Wide Track Sankey- In bits- Gone to a new home M0XQS |

Very pleased with my Wipac lights, which I chose as I felt they were more 'original'

I think you’ll be happy with both, but as a straight swap the RDX ones are easier.
Another alternative is the Perei LED lights that LR used on their special editions. They are available here... https://www.dunbrionline.com/Brands/Perei/...-LED-Lamps They come in coloured and clear lenses, and you can see a write up on how to fit them here... http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17799.html cheers, Steve Last edited by SteveG on 23rd Jan 2018 10:56am. Steve,
Not sure what you mean by the RDX ones being a simpler straight swap. My normal size Wipacs (i.e not NAS) were a case of removing the original screws, pulling the original light unit out un plugging it, then plugging in the new LED one and fixing it back in place with two new screws. Unless you are referring to the NAS spec ones which need plinths fitting etc. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. Wide Track Sankey- In bits- Gone to a new home M0XQS |

Yes, just referring to the NAS ones, sorry for the confusion

RDX, no issues in years now. Very little difference in either.

Another vote for RDX, no issues with years of use but TBH I think they probably come from the same factory anyway...

Another vote for RDX. They look just like the standard light, so keeps that original look. Also very bright compared to the originals. I only did the tail/brake lights, but will get round to doing the rest as and how they blow.

RDX here too without issue. Good quality and OE appearance. Slighty off topic but the indicators/RDX relay work well too

Notify your insurer. Honestly, any excuse not to pay out...
Then explain to insurer that you don't need to be a qualified automotive electrician to be able to do the work "safely"... (no the vehicle will not catch fire!) |
